Amon is the supreme Egyptian divinity. Assimilated to Ra, god of the Sun that rises, was represented under human form with two tall pens on its head. It was also the God of the geese and the rams with bent horns.

Apis was the name of a race of bulls that were born in Menfi, distinguishable thanks to some stains on the back and on the tongue. Such kind of Taurus didn't born so often, and when one of them came to the light it was considered a divinity.

Bastet was the Goddess of the joy and of the heat of the Sun. Represented as a woman from the head of cat or as a feline, she was also the protectress of the faraone.

Geb represented the earth. It was brother and bridegroom of Nut, and he was always represented with her in the form of man, sometimes with sketches of leaves or with a goose, ideogram of his name, on the head.

Horus, child of Osiris, was represented as a man by the head of hawk, or as a bird of prey. It was one of the principal divinities, and he presided to the observance of rites and laws. According to the ancient Egyptians, the pharaoh was the terrestrial incarnation of Horus. The God was of great relief in the myth of Osiris,in fact he defeated Seth God, of the evil.

Khnum was the God with the head of bull. Beloved to Elephantine, he was the keeper of the sources of the Nile and he presided the floods.

Mut, the woman vulture, the bride of Amon was considered.

Nefti, daughter of Amon - Ra as Osiriis, Isis and Seth, were one of the two kites (the other one was the sister), birds that shouted funeral complaints. It was also the protectress of the dead.

Nut, bride and sister of the God - earth Geb, was the goddess of the sky and she was represented in an arc position above the husband, separated by him by the void, Shu. She was the mother of all the stars, and according to the myth she gave birth them every evening to devour them at the morning.

Ptah was the protector of the artists and the artisans. He had a man's semblances wound in a very narrow dress that made him similar to a chrysalis or to a mummy. Being very similar to Osiris, he was in partnership to him.

Sekhmet is an appellative that means "the mighty one." In fact this goddess, from the body of woman and head of lioness, she was the terrible enemy whose the sovereign threatened. It was besides the protectress of the physicians and the magicians.

Seth, God of the desert, of the earths of border and the foreigners, was consideredthe personification of the evil. Represented as a not identified animal similar to the wild boar or as a man with the head of animal, in the myth he is the brother of Osiris and also his worse enemy, that is defeated then by his nephew Horus.

Shu, represented with the semblances of a man, he symbolized the void and the air that were between the sky and the earth. Not by chance, in the paintings we find him while Nut lifts, goddess of the sky, with Geb at his feet , husband of Nut and god of the earth.

Tauert was a domestic goddess, that is beloved in the house and not in the temples. She was represented as a pregnant female of hippo, and she assisted all the women, from the queen to the farmer, during the birth of their children.

Anubi god with human body and head of jackal, was the patron of the embalming and the lord of the necropolises. He presided to the court of the afterlife, using the balance, and according to the myth he was the mummifier of Osiris.

Aton was one of the greatest Egyptian divinities. Represented as a solar disk with a lot of arms and hands, he was declared the only divinity from the pharaoh Akhenaten, but with the birth of Tuthankamon the religion returned polytheist. Aton gave light and heat to the men.

Bes was a smaller divinity, represented as a dwarf with the tongue out of the mouth. She was considered above all a domestic divinity, protecting of the house and, partly, of the job.

Hator, the goddess from the head of ram, the nurse of the pharaoh was considered. She represented the sky.

Isis, mother of Horus and bride of Osiris, she was the one that in the myth reconstructed the body of her husband, that had been done in pieces from his brother Seth. The goddess represented the companion - bride model, and she was protectress of the wealth, of the births, of the sailors and of the state.

Maat symbolized the cosmic order, the justice and the truth. Represented as a woman with a long feather on the head, she established the code of the correct human behavior and she took part to the court of Osiris putting her feather on the balance.

Nekhbet, goddess represented as a vulture or a woman - vulture, she was the protectress of the kingdom and all the queens were considered her terrestrial incarnation.

Osiris, considered the first pharaoh, he was the God of the vegetation and the agriculture. Represented as a man by the green skin, he is the father of Horus and the protagonist of the famous Egyptian myth.

Ra, God of the Sun that rises, was one of the principal divinities. The creator of the universe was considered, and he was the protector of the state and of the justice. The Sun was its Boat, and with it every day he crossed the sky. The classical representation consists in a very decorated eye, while, when he was associated to Horus, he became very similar to this last.

Selket was a goddess few revered. She was represented on the sarcofagus as a Scorpio from the head of woman, or as a woman with a Scorpioon the head.

Sphinx is the name of a fantastic animal, with the body of a lion and with the human or bovine head. Considered the representation idealized of the sovereign, the sphinx assumed a function of vigilance and protection, for example when she was built in Giza.

Sobek was painted as a man by the head of crocodile, or as a crocodile. He was the god of the water and of the fertility of the fields.

Toth was represented as a monkey or as a man by the head of ibis, a bird from the very long beak. He was the god of the writing and of the calculus, and patron of the scribes and the surveyors. In the court of the afterworld he had the assignment to annotate everything - the name of the pharaoh, the weight of the heart, the results of the execution - and, through the hieroglyphs, he also had the control of the magic and the magicians.
